Solid State Disks
The common feature of all Solid State Disks is that the data is stored on semi-conductor chips. Solid State Disks are insensitive to shock, vibration, temperature effects and extreme air pressure changes and are highly resistant to EMI and ESD.

Solid State Disks do not have sensitive rotating components. They are totally silent in operation and have a low current consumption. The data can be written, read and deleted just like conventional hard disks. Mechanical hard disks in mobile systems and industrial computers can be replaced by pin compatible Solid State Disks.

1,8", 2.5" and 3.5" Solid State Disks  Products
Solid State Disks in 1.8", 2.5" and 3.5" formats are available with IDE interface with capacities from 32MB to 60GB. They are rugged replacements for standard 2.5" (44 pin) and 3.5" (40 pin) hard disks.

Memtech has SCSI interface disks in addition to IDE.  The used memory and controller technologies used make all of these products ideal for industrial applications. Extended temperature range –40° to +85°C (operating) products are available on request.
SiliconSystems PC Cards, Compact Flash Cards & DOMs  Products
SiliconSystems manufactures 40 pin, IDE compatible DiskOnModules (DOM) which have a very compact form. In addition there are products in PC Card and Compact Flash Card (CFC) formats. The capacities range from 32MB to 8GB.  These products are suitable especially for mobile and embedded products where there are space restrictions.

Their standard operating temperature range is from 0°C to +70°C.  –40°C to 85°C operating temperature range is available as an option.

altec manufactures ATA Flash PC Cards Type II with memory technology based on SiliconDrive™ Industrial Grade quality with True IDE Mode. Capacities from 32 MB to 8.0 GB are available. Four versions are manufactured for demanding environments:  version Solid, version IP54, version IP68 and Hermetic Military version with fully sealed case. All versions are mechanically very rugged – high resistance to vibration and shock. Unique metal case design ensures high resistance to deformation, EMC, excellent protection against ESD and corrosion.

There are several active Flash Card Drives  for CompactFlash Card, PC Card or SD Card/MMCs. IDE, USB, SCSI, ISA, PCI and PC/104 are among the supported interfaces. Rugged models provide high mechanical stability due to metal guide rails and compact design.

Complete system plus altec copying software runs under Windows XP Professional.
